Alana Hayes is a Nurse Practitioner and Credentialled Diabetes Educator with over 20 years' nursing experience including more than 10 years specialising in diabetes care. She combines advanced clinical expertise with practical, evidence-based care that is personalised, realistic and designed to fit each person's daily life.
Alongside her private practice, Alana works in nurse-led clinics at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital Diabetes Centre. She provides care for adults living with all types of diabetes and has particular expertise in diabetes technology, including continuous glucose monitoring and insulin pump therapy.
Alana provides comprehensive clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning and ongoing diabetes management, together with practical education and support. She works collaboratively with each person and their broader healthcare team to deliver coordinated, individualised care.
From newly diagnosed through to complex management, Alana works with adults living with all types of diabetes.
Alana works collaboratively with GPs, specialists and other healthcare professionals to support coordinated, well-communicated care. Referrals commonly include insulin initiation, continuous glucose monitoring, insulin pump support and structured diabetes education.
